Message from the GRSP Chair

By: Bert Guy, GRSP Chair

I am excited to serve as Chair of the Georgia Rotary Student Program and I look forward to this new GRSP Alumni Newsletter. I have been involved with GRSP since 2008 and have enjoyed serving as a student weekend coordinator, host family, trustee, and officer. I appreciate all of the friendships that I have made with so many of you through the years and hope that this alumni newsletter will enable you as GRSP Alumni to strengthen your bonds with each other and the Rotarians who have helped you along the way.

This year, as you probably know, we do not have a class because of COVID-19. This is the first time that we have not had students here since we were founded in 1946. We are however in the process of accepting applications for the 21–22 school year and we will have that selection process in January. We hope that most of the students who planned to study here this year will be able to study next year. Please encourage good applicants to apply and have the same life-changing experience that you had.

The goal of GRSP is to Build Peace Through Understanding. When you arrived in Georgia you arrived as ambassadors of your countries to Georgia. When you left you became goodwill ambassadors for Georgia and GRSP. I hope that you will always treasure your memories of GRSP as we treasure our memories of you
